To commemorate the 120th anniversary of Mukai Junkichi’s birth, this two-part series of exhibitions looks back at the artist’s life and his entire career. The second part is made up of different works from those in the first. A special section focuses on the furniture and other household items that Mukai loved, and that continue to imbue the annex with a tasteful air.
The exhibit includes information on the wood artisan Hayashi Jiro and Yoshida Shoya, who was involved in the Mingei folk art movement.
